Dr Reem El Bahtimi, is an American Board Certified pathologist in Dermatopathology, Clinical and Anatomic pathology. She has been practicing dermatopathology in the UAE for the last 20 years. Dr Reem is currently the Founder and Medical director of Dermpath Consult, a state of the art, full service laboratory dedicated to Dermatopathology. Dermpath Consult is a private standalone laboratory that caters to the needs of Dermatologist, Plastic surgeons, General surgeons, and General practitioners. Dr Reem runs a very busy dermatopathology service with referrals and second opinions from all over the UAE, Gulf region and Asia.

Dr Reem was Clinical Associate Staff, at Sunnybrook health science center, Toronto, where she practiced Dermatopathology on a part time basis. Dr Reem was also Adjunct Assistant professor, Al Ain University (FMHS). She is involved in teaching Dermatology residents and Dermatopathology fellows. Dr Reem completed a residency in Anatomic and Clinical pathology, followed by a fellowship in Dermatopathology at the Medical University of South Carolina, under the directorship of Dr John Maize. Dr Reem is triple American boarded in Anatomic, Clinical and Dermatopathology.

Prior to Dermpath Consult, Dr. Reem was the Medical Director of National Reference Laboratory (NRL), she was in charge of setting up multiple new departments including Anatomic Pathology, Cytology, and blood bank service in 3 laboratories in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Healthpoint hospital. In addition she was the director of Dermatopathology, running a very busy dermatopathology service at NRL. Prior to NRL, she had been practicing as Consultant pathologist and director of Dermatopathology at the American Hospital Dubai.

Dr. Reem was the General Secretary of the pathology society 2013-2015, she previously served on the board 2006-2010. She is a Fellow of several societies including, College of American Pathologist, American Society of Clinical Pathologists, American Academy of Dermatopathology, International Society of Dermatopatholoy and Member of South Carolina Medical Association, Emirates Medical Association and UAE Supreme National Blood Transfusion.

Dr. Reem is a CAP inspector, and sat on multiple committees including Blood Utilization Committee (Chair), Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, Higher Council of Blood Bank UAE, Infection Control Committee (ex-Chair), Appointment & credentialing committee and Liability committee. She is also a reviewer for The International Journal of Dermatology and was on the editorial board of the European Journal of Dermatopathology.
